    Lynwood, I can't answer your question about weight gain or loss on plaquenil but I did go off plaquenil a few months ago and haven't been the same since. I regret the decision which had I made because I'd felt pretty well for quite some time and was doing my best to slowly get off as many meds as possible. I'm on Plaquenil, and after the first week's GI upset, I have had no problems with it. Did you take yourself off Plaquenil, or did your doctor tell you to go off it? And as far as the vision issue goes, toxicity causing vision loss is very rare if you are on the right dose for your height and if you get regular eye exams. If you are pregnant or considering becoming pregnant, discuss Plaquenil with your doctors. Though Plaquenil is generally regarded as safe during pregnancy, it is recommended that effective birth control is used throughout the course of Plaquenil treatment and for up to six months after treatment is stopped.
